Diefenbunker: Canada's Cold War Museum

Live Cold War history by visiting the place where Canada's government would have come in time of nuclear war.

(Museum)
Built to protect the government from nuclear attack, this once-secret bunker is now a museum and National Historic Site of Canada.

In addition to preserving and promoting Canada's Cold War history, we offer a variety of visitor programs and services. You can learn, play or shop as you discover the bunker’s secrets and relive the experience of the Cold War.

Now that we have reached our fundraising goal of $1.5 million the museum is diligently working towards completing the work necessary to facilitate self-guided and audio tours of the Diefenbunker National Historic Site. June 28, 2010 is the commencement date of our augmented programming. We are pleased to announce that our guided tours continue uninterupted and will continue after the expanded tour options are implemented.
