Melfort Travel Guide

Melfort, Saskatchewan, is called the 'City of Northern Lights' due to the frequency at which the Aurora Borealis appears. This small Canadian city (5,192 population) is situated in an area of rich fertile farm land. Agriculture is the main industry here. Melfort is approximately 95 km southeast of Prince Albert. It became Saskatchwan's 12th city in 1980. Melfort is near the largest diamond find in the world.

Melfort has all the amenities of much larger cities, including the Northern Lights Palace Wave Pool and Arena, Melfort and District Museum, Melfort Golf and Country Club and much more. It has a strong commercial district and serves the entire northeastern portion of Saskatchewan.
