About Us

Our galleries provide a great interpretation of life in the Western Interior Seaway from the late Cretaceous period of Earth’s natural history. Our extensive collection of marine reptile fossils is the largest in Canada and is very well represented in our gallery space.

"A museum is a not-for-profit, permanent institution in the service of society that researches, collects, conserves, interprets and exhibits tangible and intangible heritage. Open to the public, accessible and inclusive, museums foster diversity and sustainability. They operate and communicate ethically, professionally and with the participation of communities, offering varied experiences for education, enjoyment, reflection and knowledge sharing"

Testimonials

  • A small museum, but with excellent displays for one of its size. If in town, definitely worth a visit. Staff are excellent, had a discussion with one gentleman about some of the specific fossils and their back story. Wish I remembered his name, but he was awesome. Cool little gift shop as well; bought myself a very well-made trilobite replica for dirt cheap.

  • The place is nice, and has a couple or decent mosasaurus fossils. The only con is that it is a small museum. We walked it completely in 30 minutes. But the kids were happy with the exhibit.

  • Fantastic museum, smartly housed in a multi purpose building (arena, concession, visitor info, two museums etc). The dinosaur museum was excellent....displays well explained and constructed with care. Very informative! Fun areas for younger kids as well. I really enjoyed my visit!! Spent three hours.
