Close to the beautiful Pope National Wildlife Reserve is the community of Hamiota. Well known for its successful local sports teams, active arts and culture community, Hamiota is located on Provincial highway 21 in Manitoba, Canada.
The small town of 850 people is only 84 kilometres to the northwest of the city of Brandon, Manitoba.
Close to Hamiota is the Pope National Wildlife Reserve, which was designated as a national wildlife reserve in 1972. It is one of the few federally-owned parcels of land remaining in Manitoba, and is an important water source for the wetlands and marshes located downstream.
