Mather- Walls House
(Museum)
The Mather-Walls House, and indeed the entire community of Keewatin, can be traced to the vision of one family – the Mathers.
(Museum)
The Mathers introduced the Presbyterian Church, the telephone, sawmills and the benefits of a thriving economy to the good citizens of Keewatin
Mather-Walls, built in the Queen Anne style, is one of three nearly identical homes in Keewatin commissioned by the Mathers in 1889. Today, the house contains turn-of-the-century furnishings from the early 1900s, and an interpretive display high-lighting the significant impact of the Mather family on the development of the area.
