Mackenzie House Museum
(Museum)
Situated in downtown Toronto, Mackenzie House is a Greek Revival row-house, which was purchased by the community for William Lyon Mackenzie, Toronto's first mayor, and outspoken newspaper editor and leader of the 1837 Upper Canada Rebellion.
(Museum)
A charming Georgian rowhouse, Mackenzie House is noteworthy for its Greek Revival frieze and vestibule entrance. Entry to the building is via a sidewalk leading to the rear of the building where there is a walled garden, bas-relief sculptures by Emanuel Hahn, and a recreated period print shop.
