Naive art finds its source and its deepest roots during the great movement or popular art. From the 18th century, long journeys provoked man's reflexions on nature. But is is in the 19th century that popular art was discovered by recognizing the imminent role that romantism assigned to the notion of people as an active and primordial element, as opposed to to the one of the elites.
