Kahnawake Welcome Center:
Located 10 kilometres south of Montreal, is one of the eight communities that make up the Mohawk (Kanien’kehá:ka) Nation. Kahnawà :ke’s rich Mohawk culture lives on every day through the people, annual powwow and through the teachings, library and exhibits at the Kanien’kehá:ka Onkwawénna Raotitióhkwa Language & Cultural Center. The Shrine of Kahnawà :ke’s recently canonized Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, is located in the Saint Francis Xavier Mission along with many architectural, religious, spiritual and historical treasures, tours, and, a museum. With over 250 businesses in the community, including the bed & breakfast, the golf courses, several restaurants, marina, specialty shopping and gift shops, there are plenty of opportunities for every visitor.
