we blinked on Halloween and now somehow it’s December……. But lucky for us, we have photo proof that this whirlwind of a month really happened!! We opened two new awesome shows: “Feeling Further” by @imvioletdrake in the rOGUE Gallery and “AtaKatigejut (Intertwined)” in the Main, featuring gorgeous work by Juliette Onalik, Billy Gauthier, Shannon Case & Stephanie Brant.

We had an amazing time hosting @spiritsongfestival for collab events, from panels to workshops, plus a bonus residency with @billy.l.gauthier 🔥

Other highlights: Elijah went up to Happy Valley-Goose Bay as a visiting artist for the @labcreativearts festival! @georgia.dawkin.art joined us as AiR, working on her “PROFESSIONAL WOMAN” project! We hosted Violet’s autoethnography workshop & invited our community down for bylaws, voting, and pie at our AGM!!

Eastern Edge is proud to help make a difference in our city! This #GivingTuesday we’re asking for your help to support our free, year-round arts programming. For 40 years, Eastern Edge has played a vital role in creating equitable, paid opportunities for artists, and building an inclusive community for folks from all walks of life.

It’s a scary time for grant-funded art charities, but we are working hard to diversify our revenue streams! That’s why, this Giving Tuesday, we’re asking for your support. If you like us and value the work that we do, please consider making a donation to keep our beloved arts space free and open to the public! Every dollar helps and we are so grateful for your support!

❤️ Donations of $25-$100 will help us buy workshop materials and installation equipment for our gallery. (Help us get a new ladder!)

❤️ Donations of $250-500 will help us pay for artist talks and workshops. (Help us keep our workshop registration fee!)

❤️ Donations of $1000-$2000 will help us pay artist fees for gallery and studio programming. (Help us continue to bring in visiting artists from around the world!)

Last week, our Festival & Communications Coordinator Elijah traveled up to Happy Valley-Goose Bay for the 49th annual LCAF. Elijah spent a week teaching book arts and zinemaking workshops for local schools and visiting drama students from coastal communities. We are blown away by these young folks’ creativity and talent, and so thankful for all the dedicated students, teachers, organizers, and visiting artists we got to connect with!

Thank you again to the LCAF team for this incredible opportunity, and congratulations to all participants on a wonderful festival! 🤍💚💙
